Set up Aegis
Four steps. About five minutes.
Subscribe
Create your account and start your subscription on the pricing page. The same email and password will sign you into the app.
Download and install
Download Aegis for Windows and run the installer. Windows will ask for permission once. Click Yes. That single approval is what lets Aegis block sites across your whole PC.
Open Aegis and sign in with the account from step 1. The app checks your subscription and unlocks. Turn on the protections you want from the dashboard.
Add the browser extension
The extension hides AI labelled content inside Chrome or Edge. Until the store listing is live: open chrome://extensions, turn on Developer mode, click Load unpacked, and choose the extension folder from your Aegis install. It unlocks by itself once the app confirms your subscription.
If something looks off
- The extension says it is locked. Open the Aegis app, go to Account, and press Refresh status. The extension unlocks within about 30 seconds.
- The app says desktop enforcement is paused. Close Aegis and run it as administrator once. System wide blocking needs that permission.
- A site you blocked still loads. Restart your browser. Browsers sometimes hold on to old connections for a while.
