Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 14, 2026
Aegis is built to filter your internet, not to watch it. This policy explains what little we collect, what stays on your device, and what the browser extension does. Short version: your browsing stays yours.
What we collect
- Your email address, used to create your account and sign you in.
- Your subscription status (active, canceled, and the renewal date), synced from Stripe so the app knows whether to unlock.
That is the full list. We do not collect names, browsing history, page content, usage analytics, or advertising identifiers.
What stays on your device
- All app settings, including social media schedules and limits.
- Your parental mode password, stored only as a salted hash. We could not read it even if we wanted to.
- The activity log (counts of blocked items). It never leaves your PC.
The browser extension
The extension reads the pages you visit locally, inside your browser, to find AI labels and hide matching content. Page content is never sent to our servers or anyone else. The extension talks only to the Aegis app on your own computer, to sync your settings and report a count of hidden items for your dashboard.
Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and never touch our servers. Stripe shares with us only your subscription status. See Stripe's privacy policy for how they handle payment data.
Services we rely on
- Supabase hosts accounts and subscription status.
- Stripe processes payments and donations.
We do not sell or share your information with anyone else.
Deleting your data
Email us and we will delete your account and its data. Uninstalling the app removes all local data, and the uninstaller cleans up any system level blocks Aegis added.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and meaningful changes will be called out on this page.
